Holiday Dressing

I’ve just returned from a crazy Thanksgiving holiday and these are some pictures I took just before I left.  My original plans of flying to NYC and watching the parade were changed.  Instead I spent time with my family and drove 13 hours to see everyone.  I drove so I could take my little dog who had been sick the past week.  I didn’t want to leave her in kennel not knowing how she would feel.  The trip was crazy, but well worth it!

I brought a Panettone that I found in a local shop.  I love eating this for breakfast with coffee, and since my father and step mother have lots of company I figured this would feed a crowd.  I also thought the colour and design of the packaging was beautiful, especially since it matched my outfit :)

Sweater: Victoria’s Secret (old) Similar Here.  Skirt: Ann Taylor (old) Similar Here.  Bag: Kate Spade.

This holiday was  a nonstop frenzy of cooking, cleaning, eating and chatting.  I had even forgotten to take pictures, I was so busy.  And instead of being on the computer late every night, I stayed up and chatted with my step mother and her cousin, most nights till 12am and later.  It was a nice change.  I loved being “present” instead of being on the computer or snapping photos.  Plus I was able to see my Yie- Yie (grandfather in Chinese) who is 94 and I may not get a chance to see again.  So I had a wonderful time.

Have you gone on a special holiday recently?  Are you planning anything for the New Year?

I hope everyone has had a wonderful week!

  1. First of all: that sweater looks SO soft and lovely! Very cozy. Secondly: It sounds like you had an incredible Thanksgiving holiday! It's so nice to be able to spend time with your family and loved ones, not feeling like you have to capture it all. It's nice to have a few photos, but if you get too many you risk not being able to find the special times in them because you weren't present.

I hope the pup is doing well!

    1. Thank you Erin. It was a wonderful holiday and my dog is doing so much better. The vet said it was probably just a virus.

    1. Yes she is much better now. I had several tests and a full blood test done, but everything came back fine. The vet said she just must have had a long lasting virus. Thank you Gemma :)
